It's funny how things tend to work in threes, and how many important dates we have in our lives. I gave two weeks' notice to what I believed was my dream job three weeks ago...

Last year, I was given the opportunity to take on a leadership role with a nonprofit organization that was everything I had been called to accomplish and build: Teen Moms! This is a passion for sure, since I was a teen parent and God guided me every step of the way!

My thoughts of gratitude: I was finally operating in what God had planned for me... I was a part of a ministry that cared about young moms, which was well-connected in the Houston area, and led by someone who knew what they was doing! It was absolute joy to come in and bring a splash of color where ever I could. And how convenient that it worked around my hectic schedule as a wife, mother of six, and Field Sales Account Executive! It doesn’t get more perfect than that…

Every Monday evening, I spent time loving on young women I truly cared about, teaching life skills or the word of God, weekly check ins, preparing baby showers quarterly centered on the gospel message of salvation and community, and partnering with volunteers who simply want to love and help people! It was amazing and suited my talents and abilities well. I won the lottery!

I had no idea God was about to put a twist in my plans and compel me to rely on faith instead of my capacity.

Why aren't you performing your own ministry, Nimi would ask, and I'd tell him I didn't have the capacity right now...

I called the center's CEO three weeks ago today to tell her about what God showed me when I was away at a Woman's Conference. Long story short-- God has called me to His word this season to be with Him, so I can build whatever he desires...but that this is not a farewell, but rather an expansion of future work together.

The women's conference (Radiant, you should go next year BTW) I planned as a girls weekend away, with my high school senior twin daughters, became a moment that wasn't just about my daughters and I getting away but a pivotal moment of direction and revelation.

I'll share my testimony with everyone God leads me to, but today I'm going to share with you the scripture that I'll never be able to ignore. I pray that it inspires you to join God's vision for your life.

Luke 4:18-19 in The Passion Translation

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, and he has anointed me to be hope for the poor, healing for the brokenhearted, and new eyes for the blind, and to preach to prisoners, ‘You are set free!’ I have come to share the message of Jubilee, for the time of God’s great acceptance has begun.”

Thank you Lord for Two Lives Changed, and for each moment of life change.

God is good, all the time!
